Mental health - like physical health - is something we all have. Good mental health helps us form positive relationships with others, handle ups and downs, and generally enjoy life. With good mental health, we can feel confident and be more open to trying and learning new things.

Mental health problems affect about 1 in 10 children and young people. They include depression, anxiety and conduct disorder, and are often a direct response to what is happening in their lives.

Mental health and well-being is not just the absence of mental health problems. We want all of our school community to:

  • Feel confident in themselves
  • Be able to express a range of emotions appropriately
  • Be able to make and maintain positive relationships with others
  • Cope with the stresses of everyday life
  • Manage times of stress and be able to deal with change
  • Learn and achieve

On this page, you will find mental health resources for everyone (including parents/carers).

If you are struggling, reach out.
