Our Year 1 children today have taken part in a workshop all about the inspirational woman 'Rosa Parks'. In class children were asked to write a newspaper report detailing the events that led up to the 'Bus Boycott' and the changing of the segregation laws. The children have also learnt the following -

  • Discovered the inspirational stories of key figures from Black History 
  • Have been introduced the themes of equality, discrimination, difference and racism
  • Celebrated Black History Month
  • Expressed ideas and feelings through voice, movement, role play and drama
